The Cross River State Government has approved the purchase of 150 mini buses as part of a new empowerment programme aimed at supporting less-privileged residents in the state.
According to the government, the initiative is designed to help people, especially youths and low-income earners, gain access to sustainable livelihoods by using the buses for commercial transport services. Officials say the programme will reduce unemployment, boost small businesses, and support families struggling with daily income.
The state government added that strict guidelines will be set to ensure only qualified and genuinely needy beneficiaries receive the vehicles. The move is part of broader efforts to ease poverty and improve economic opportunities across the state.
