The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Charles Soludo, as the winner of the Anambra State governorship election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Soludo, who is the incumbent governor, defeated his closest rivals from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nicholas Ukachukwu, and the Labour Party (LP), Valentine Ozigbo, to secure a second term in office.

The INEC Returning Officer, Professor Chukwuma Nnabuife, announced the result at the state collation centre in Awka in the early hours of Sunday. Soludo polled a total of 182,045 votes, while Ukachukwu of the APC scored 95,312 votes, and Ozigbo of the Labour Party garnered 78,604 votes.

Declaring the winner, Professor Nnabuife said, โ€œBy the powers conferred on me as the State Returning Officer for the Anambra governorship election, I hereby declare Charles Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance as the winner, having satisfied all constitutional requirements.โ€

Reacting to his victory, Soludo expressed gratitude to the people of Anambra State for renewing their confidence in him, promising to consolidate on his administrationโ€™s achievements in infrastructure, education, and security.

โ€œI dedicate this victory to God and to Ndi Anambra who stood firm for progress and continuity. We will not relent in building a prosperous and secure state,โ€ he said.
