President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reappointment of Brigadier-General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd) as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for another five-year term.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the presidency said Marwaโs renewal followed his exceptional performance in leading the agencyโs nationwide campaign against drug abuse and trafficking. The administration noted that under his leadership, the NDLEA recorded unprecedented arrests, seizures and successful prosecutions across the country.
The president expressed confidence that Marwaโs continued stewardship would further strengthen the nationโs anti-narcotics efforts and consolidate ongoing reforms within the agency. He also urged the NDLEA to remain steadfast in its mission to safeguard communities from the dangers of illicit drugs.
Marwa, who first assumed office in January 2021, is expected to build on recent achievements, including improved inter-agency collaboration and enhanced public sensitisation on drug education.
