Residents of Zaki Biam in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State are increasingly alarmed as the town experiences a spike in criminal activities. Reports of kidnapping threats, motorcycle theft, and suspected cult operations have heightened tensions among locals.

The community says the criminal elements now operate more boldly, targeting vulnerable areas and forcing many residents to adjust their daily routines for safety. Traders, commuters, and farmers have also expressed concern over the rising insecurity, noting that it is beginning to affect economic activities.

Community leaders and youth groups are calling on security agencies to intensify patrols and take decisive action to restore peace. They warned that if the situation is not addressed urgently, the insecurity could escalate and further destabilize the area.

Local authorities have yet to issue a comprehensive statement, but residents insist that coordinated security intervention is urgently needed to curb the growing wave of crime.
