Bosun Tijani, minister of communications and digital economy, says the federal government is putting together โ‚ฆ12 billion to fund digital economy research projects aimed at ensuring Nigeria benefits from the dividends of digital transformation.

Tijani disclosed this on Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the 18th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV) held in Abuja.

The four-day conference, themed โ€˜Shaping the Future of Digital Governance Through Cooperation, Innovation and Inclusion,โ€™ was organised by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

He explained that the fund will support research institutions and innovators working on digital solutions that can enhance governance, service delivery, and economic inclusion across the country.
